Holiday weekend...

As someone who works for a Veteran (Semper Fi, Mr. Jim) I get to occasionally hear from someone who truly served his country. This weekend a lot of us will be out grilling and having a good time. But don't forget to spend a little time praying for and thinking about the men and women who are serving our country overseas and who will not have the opportunity to spend this as a "3 day weekend".

We are so blessed to have people serving on behalf of freedom and democracy in the rest of the world as an extension of America.

God bless America...may we never forget who has blessed us with what we have.

A Lesson In Patience - 03/09/2008

Patience...

It's a hard thing, isn't it? That's what we talked about in our lesson this past Sunday night.

It was all summed up in a few passages of scripture:

Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.." - NIV.

Fruit is a sign of maturity, whether in a tree or in a spiritual life. With the wisdom of spiritual maturity comes patience.

Another passage tells us more:

1 Corinthians 13:4 "Love is patient, love is kind." - NIV.

So it should ever be a part of our daily walk to "check yourself" when it comes to patience. As we surrender more and more to the love of God we should see His patience coming out in us. As others see this Christlike trait demonstrated in our lives it will truly lead to a 'contagious community'.

March / April Schedule

We have some open dates for our Cell Group meeting location. I would like to get March and April established so everyone has time to plan. Here's what we have so far:

New Study

New Cell Group Series!

We will be starting a new series/study in our CG on 01/20/08. The study is titled "Contagious Community: Living Beyond Yourself".

As Christians we are called to be part of a "contagious community". In other words, what we have should be spreading like wildfire. That was the experience of the New Testament church. They even saw 3,000 souls saved in one day in Acts 2. That's a contagious community! And that is what God wants for us today.

We will be learning how to be a part of this community that God intends.

Hey everyone! This new "blogspot" will let us stay in contact and keep everyone informed on what's happening within our Cell Group.

We're going to have some prayer requests on the blog, so I'm trying to make sure we keep access limited to the folks attending our Cell Group. I want everyone to feel comfortable that they can share openly but it will stay within the group for prayer.
